Workshops
In this studio, students actively sought raw materials in the vicinity of the old tannery in Viroinval, Belgium. During the exploration, students were divided into groups, each assigned to a specific raw material. Each group conducted searches to identify the locations of these raw materials in the vicinity. Once found, they commenced the analysis of the waste stream generated by each of these businesses. This waste stream was meticulously examined. Through this study, students were tasked with selecting a waste product from one of the waste streams and using it to design a pavilion. The design process required pushing the chosen raw material to its limits, utilizing only that material and potentially a binder.
