Kobe and Allan

This design is a circular response to packaging waste. We reuse discarded plastic strapping tape, which is normally wrapped around pallets, by stringing the shorter pieces together to form a long roll. We chose a large triangle, stretched between three anchor points, as the basic shape. By weaving these strips, we can create different patterns. The weave density varies: more densely woven areas function as a rain shelter, while more open patterns allow sunlight to pass through. Thanks to the different colors of this material, a dynamic interplay of light and color is created beneath the shelter.
