Verb: To bake/ Material: AdobeThe project proposes a community pottery kiln designed for local artisans to revive the region’s prominent pottery traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries. The design leverages the natural thermal and hygroscopic properties of adobe, combined with a cross-firing kiln configuration, to create an efficient, climate-responsive, and culturally rooted production space. Beyond its functional role, the kiln acts as a communal gathering space where potters meet, exchange knowledge, and sustain shared practices.
